Kircher Collection

The tradition of scholarship and the desire to learn remain deeply embedded in Jesuit education. Four hundred years after Ricci, at a major international conference that foregrounded the 21st Century, the Congregation asserted that ‘In all of its endeavours, Jesuit education is distinguished by intellectual excellence and academic rigour’. And because of this, ‘the schools set demanding standards for both students and faculty’. It is this ethic that drives the educational program at Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview and generates the quality of work contained in this publication.

Named after Athanasius Kircher SJ, a Jesuit of colossal intellect of the late 17th Century, The Kircher Collection is testament to aspirational scholarship that is alive and well at the College. It profiles the very best works from key fields of intellectual pursuit and endeavour of the Extension and major-work courses of the HSC cohort including Music, Visual Arts, Drama, Extension History, Extension Science, English Extension Two, Photography and Digital Imaging, Design and Technology and Industrial Technology.

More than just a compendium of student work, The Kircher Collection is a manifestation of the desire to enquire, to experience, to comprehend, to analyse, to interpret and to create. All corollaries of cognition in the quotient of learning.

Our Alma Mater

Our Alma Mater is the College’s annual yearbook, documenting all aspects of College life. A digital copy is shared with all families, along with printed copies where ordered. Distribution occurs after Term 1 of the following year. To request a copy, please contact Advancement@riverview.nsw.edu.au.
